The Dutch Windwheel Mock-up is conceived as a full-scale testing ground for the ideas behind the Dutch Windwheel: a place where climate-driven architecture, circular thinking and digital innovation come together. Built as a demonstration and research laboratory, the mock-up makes abstract ambitions tangible — from a climate façade that generates energy to spaces that adapt to their users and environment.

Constructed from a biobased, flexible timber system, the mock-up focuses on health, adaptability and circularity. Installations are integrated into a flexible floor system, water is reused through a circular system with green walls and ecological filtration, and materials are selected for future reuse. The space is not only evaluated on energy performance, but on comfort, daylight, air quality and wellbeing, aligning with the principles of the WELL standard.
