The PURPOSE Foundation is a nonprofit that helps communities kickstart their local economies, so that economic activity pays for lasting social progress.

Our main programme is GROW, which we are developing in Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria. The idea is simple. Crops grown by local farmers become biobased building materials, produced by local industry. The carbon stored in those materials brings in carbon finance, and that income flows back into education, inclusion and wellbeing.

We don't deliver isolated projects. We build value chains that can pay for schools, community centres and affordable housing, shaped by their context and owned by the people who use them.

GROW is a collaboration with partners in government, industry, NGOs and education. Together we are setting up the first pilots and the agreements needed to take the model from concept to scale.
