Feasibility study for four courtyard houses started
Solving the housing shortage in the Netherlands demands a range of strategies. One of these was pioneered by Larry Beasley in Vancouver. Adding single homes or small clusters to existing (sub)urban properties has proven to be an effective densification strategy, with interesting economic and social spin-offs.
In the south of the Netherlands, we are studying the feasibility of adding four courtyard houses to an existing suburban property. The biobased structure, combined with a green roof, offers four couples a home with a private winter garden and a shared courtyard space.
